Minors in Arts & Science
Short link to this page: http://uoft.me/12g
As an engineering student, you are permitted to take a minor program in the Faculty of Arts & Science. Such minors are called "self-initiated minors" because you are solely responsible for ensuring that all minor requirements are met, as outlined by the Faculty of Arts & Science. The Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering has no involvement with the coordination of minor programs. For information on the requirements for the Arts & Science minor that interests you, please consult the
Arts & Science Calendar.
When you have completed your minor, or are about to complete your minor, you must declare your Arts & Science minor to the Engineering Office of the Registrar by March 15 of your graduating year. Use the survey below to declare your minor. The Office of the Registrar may require you to provide additional documentation to prove you have completed all minor requirements.
Things to know before you choose an Arts & Science minor
As an engineering student, you have the choice to pursue any one of a number of minors; however, some minors are difficult, if not virtually impossible, to pursue. Many Arts & Science courses have enrolment restrictions that give priority to Arts & Science students in a specific discipline or year of study. Please review the information in the
Engineering Guide to Arts & Science Courses and the
Arts & Science Registration Handbook and check the enrolment indicator of each course in the discipline that you wish to minor in. Please be advised that only
1.0 full course equivalents from your core or technical electives required for the completion of the BASc Degree can be used to meet the requirements of a self-initiated minor.
