Skoll BASc/MBA Program
Available to current U of T Engineering students, the Jeffrey Skoll BASc/MBA program allows students to graduate with both an undergraduate Engineering degree (BASc) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. This program is the only one of its kind in Canada.
Why combine engineering and business?
Today’s engineers are often team leaders, project managers, company directors and entrepreneurs. Many engineers distinguish themselves as founders and leaders of corporations and make a significant place for engineers in the business world. Possessing today’s most sought-after technical and management qualifications, graduates of the Skoll program are poised to become leaders in business and industry.
How does the Skoll Program work?
- Students interested in the Skoll program must complete a Professional Experience Year (PEY) internship between their third and fourth years of study in the BASc program, using the PEY Office to secure their placement.
- Students apply to and are admitted into the Skoll program during their fourth year of Engineering studies. Once accepted into the Skoll program, students continue their Engineering studies until they complete the requirements of their BASc and receive their Iron Rings with their classmates.
- Beginning in the September following graduation from Engineering, students enter the Rotman School of Management, and complete their MBA with other Rotman MBA students. After completing their MBA studies, Skoll students graduate with their MBA class.
How to apply
Only fourth-year Engineering students who have completed their PEY internship should apply for the Skoll program.
The application to the Skoll program consists of four parts:
- an application form
- GMAT results (acceptable performance on the exam to be gauged by Rotman)
- three satisfactory references using this form
- a brief interview with both Rotman and Engineering representatives.
