  • The 172 Linux workstations are called p1.ecf -> p172.ecf. They are used for general-purpose computing. The operating system is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
    • 8 workstations in SF1106        (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Dell Optiplex 760)
    • 47 workstations in SF1012       (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Dell Optiplex 990)
    • 117 workstations in SF1013     (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Dell Optiplex 760)
  • These systems are also accessible remotely over the Internet.
  • The machine called remote.ecf (running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5) handles ssh connections to ecf.utoronto.ca. This machine's primary purpose is for remote access for lightweight jobs such as mail reading.
